These two gold scrap calculators give differnt value, when you put the same price for spot. Gold value 1254.40 14k 1 Gram equals 23.63 http://www.silverrecyclers.com/Calculators/gold_calculator.aspx Gold value 1254.40 14k 1 Gram equals 21.94 http://www.jackhunt.com/scrap-calculator/ What up With that
I would guess they're not using troy ounces and only using 28.3 grams per ounce....I'll do the math if you really need me to.
On Silverrecyclers.com you have to manually adjust the spot price or it will default to the last London Fix price, regardless of what the Kitco banner reads as current market price. Never used jackhunt, but use silverrecyclers.com every day. This is probably why you're getting different prices. Right now, for example, calculations are based on gold spot of $1254.85/tOz (last fix) vs. $1229.60 (current). You can manually change the value in the box immediately below the banner.
I care, that is why I asked the question. I understand it is easy to calculate, I was curious about why they are calculating different results.
