Howdy, Well, with the prices as low as they've gotten to, is anyone buying? I have picked up some pucks and some annual bullion silver coins. Bought a little PAAS because it's got a 4.8% dividend yield and it's a silver miner. The gold/XAU ratio is up around 15, so theorhetically, miners should be undervalued. feh. I didn't bet the ranch. Also picked up a little SIL for giggles. peace, rono
I have bought coins that are predominantly bullion priced lately. The largest was a mexican 50 peso I bought because it was really nice looking. I have also bought some pucks, etc. At these prices I feel free to buy what I feel like. I am not actively "investing" money into pm at these prices, though. Just buying coins I like.
I've been scooping up some 5oz. Philly minted Mount Rushmore pucks. These should be selling out this week, it's been a hot mint product as of late.
I'm buying 1oz rounds mainly ASE and then a few maples and libertads as available. Was sad to miss the apmex free shipping day!
Bars, rounds, junk silver. Pretty much anything I can find that is decently priced. I want to buy some gold and plat if I can find it at reasonable prices.
Some 2014 world bullion silver coins (somalia elephant, aus kookaburra w/horse privy, aus koala, chinese panda). Didn't buy as much as I planned since I'm looking for larger spot price drops first. I don't plan to sell, but, don't mind getting more ounces for the money if I can.
I am big on the pucks also, but not so much the ASE. I think ASE stands for "Always the Same Eagle", doesn't it?
Tell you what, if you REALLY want to know "who's buying" its China and India, (though half is smuggled into there now). They are still huge buyers of especially gold. I wonder what the net purchase versus selling is in the US nowadays? Anyone have any information how much net gold we are buying/selling? Us little coin collectors can only do so much, the real demand in the US is jewelry.
Lately, I have added the White Mountain and Great Basin vaporized pucks. Also, the 2013 Noah's Ark and Proof Libertad. Also, the 2014 Elephant, Panda, Kookaburra, Koala, Perth Horse, and Pamp Horse. APMEX had the 1-ounce 2013 proof Libertad for about $38.00. That is a good deal. I just couldn't resist.
wow everybody is buying pucks. I got a few too. plus some generic rounds and 2 more Eagle unc W versions, the mintage looks low to me, we'll see. I want to get some more gold but I think the price will still drop some more.
Lately....a 10th oz proof gold eagle, random generic silver rounds, two 1 gram gold bars, (Pamp & Sunshine) a 5 gram gold Kine bar with horse rider hologram, a 1988 1/20th oz gold Chinese panda, 5 ASEs, (two are nice toners) a 1985 silver Libertad and 3 generic silver 1 oz bars. All of these were purchased through brick & mortar shops. Some of these are accounted for and will be sold soon, but for now I will keep the Kine bar and the toners for myself.
Worldwide proof and uncirculated coin sets that contain large silver coins, and having a wonderful time, too!
That is what it is all about man. Whether I am buying coins I like, bulk bullion, or whatever, if I am not having fun there is no reason to be here. That is what ticked me off most about the runup. I didn't feel good about buying PM at those prices, but I LOVE buying pm. Here is a pic of my last purchase.
