I think it should be posted as a new discussion, maybe? Also, a volunteer to organize? I volunteer, to help if needed, if there is interest. Anyone? IMO Lucy
Yes, I agree it should be a new thread - I just posted it here as "interested" parties from last year would be subscribed. I was wondering if maybe I'd missed an announcement...
BTW anybody know why I got a notification for this thread being started? Is it the new forum software going on?
Guess that happens when a new topic is created by splitting it off an existing one (that you were already subscribed to). And that is what I did here. But let's leave the tech stuff aside and focus on being Santas ... Christian
So I still got a list of the people who have participated in last year's SS exchange, I'll be PMing everybody this week letting them know It will be going up on the 11th. Though I am not sure I got everybody, as I had to do some real digging. In the previous format, I had them all in a separate folder ready for this year. But I did get as many people as I could find.
I don't think I did this last year, but I might want to give it a shot this year... add me to the list please.
I sent random things that were well received and secret Santa of mine sent something I would have never imagined and am happy to have I am in WD
I am interested in participating! What are the rules, or how exactly does it work? I have never done this before!
For those of you who want to participate but also want to know the rules, I will be posting the thread on November 11 with the rules and entry. Until then, we wait.
If you are considering getting in...quit considering and GET IN. Lots of fun to both give and get. The true spirit of Xmas
And if you have read previous secret santa threads, you will notice that sometimes the Grinch steps in and hurt feelings can occur. Remember that CoinTalk is only hosting the forum, not taking responsibility for participants reactions. Due to some unexplained reasons, some members in the past felt theirs was an unequal exchange, some didn't receive theirs ( maybe postage or addressing problems, etc. IF you can't accept some problems when so many anonymous people try to be anonymous exchanging 'secret' gifts, I would be cautious entering. I know the rules aren't written yet, but such should be considered. I have unbelievably received messages that I should ding a certain member because they sent a gift worth less than mentioned in rules. which is outside of my responsibilities. Not trying to spoil the fun, just limit problems , otherwise it is great fun! Jim
Well, there always seems to be a bad apple in the bunch but others should not let it bring them down to that level. I understand delivery problems. Tracking numbers usually keep the honesty level higher. It really does not cost that much more to put one on.
Will now close this one. Please move over --> http://www.cointalk.com/threads/secret-santa-2013.238614/ Christian
