So is he the one who started the whole SBSS deal? I only bought them because they looked pretty cool and I got a good price-I didnt really have a CLUE what the story was behind them and am still trying to find out about it all!
I wouldn't go that far. History is littered with people who have made statements in silver against the government, policy and power brokers. He just started the latest fad, that is now dying because of the proliferation of products available. (again my opinion)
Just a follow up for those that are interested if these ended up being comparable to SBSS or Zombucks as far as flipping them on EBay for a profit. I have yet to make any money off of them and have resorted to bundling them with other rounds to try and unload them. -_-
Got my confirmation - My Jekyll Island proof is in the mail - I'll follow up when it gets here. Second Arrow's website has been down though, so I wonder if there's an issue.
I order some the Jekyll Island from Second arrow and when I received the package, nothing was inside. They didn't tape the end of the envelope. I've tried email, phone and chat when second silver's website was up to no response
Mine's supposed to be here by the end of the week... hopefully I have better luck. If not, I suppose I can contest the charge.
Got my proof Jekyll Island today. Packaging was odd to say the least. But the coin arrived without issue. I moved it to my black-ring Air Tite from the one it shipped in, love the design. The reverse is stunning - textured, very intricate. Obverse is as pictured on their former website. I'd buy another in the series if they make any more. The COA was hand written, but I don't know that it will ever increase or decrease the value of the round...
I think they are done. They had a weird start with everyone connecting them to Mulligan, haven't released a second round in any series, have a non-functional site, and haven't been responding to me or others. No action on their twitter account either in quite a while. Shame, because the quality of the rounds blew all others out of the water.
Absolutely. I was very impressed. Mine came shipped from a plumbing company in Texas, I'd have to think the parent company of Second Arrow Silver. If you believe the number on my COA (#149), coupled with he fact I bought mine about two weeks before the site went down, I'd have to say the proof was a mintage of less than 200 - they were going to be limited to 2500 anyway.
Kind of a shame that these guys go down in flames when their rounds were of the highest quality, while the lack of quality control at provident and with Chris Duane's rounds just keeps going and churning out more garbage.
New development. Their website now states that they are just redoing their site and will soon be back with new designs. I hope so...I'm in.
