What AGE proof should I buy?

I am already buying a ASE proof each year. I want a matching 1oz AGE but I am having a hard time accepting $250 cost over bullion price.

The 1/4 is bigger than a nickel but smaller than a quarter
The half ounce is the size of a presidential dollar

    Anyone collect proofs of either?
Can you appreciate the look of either based on the size?
Long term do the smaller ones appreciate at the same rate as the 1 oz?

    Thanks for the input

From what I've observed, the smaller ones actually have larger premium spreads. Personally, I'd collect the half ounce ones, since, I think, those are the actual "eagle" weight.

I used to buy the whole proof sets when I could get them for like $1400-$1500. But this was like 6 or 7 years ago. Beautiful coins!!! The first proof AGE I bought was a 1/10 oz coin. It's a nice coin but definitely prefer the 1 oz coin. You can see the design better and the heft of that 1 oz coin in your hands just feels nice.

Typically the premiums on the 1 oz coins make more sense vs the smaller denominations but depends on who you get them from. Size wise I probably would either get the 1/2 oz or 1 oz coin not the smaller ones.

Have you checked the premiums on the bullion versions? Or do you just want the proof version?

I buy the 1/10th oz proof gold every year they are affordable and very nice to look at. I actually stopped buying the Proof Silver Eagles after I started seeing milk spots show up my coins, I still do buy the Reverse Proof Silver Eagles though. If I was looking at investing say $2000 a year in coins though I would start buy buying the UHR Gold Eagle as my first purchase and then start buying the Reverse Proof Gold Eagle set and collect all the collector gold coins (Reverse Proof Buffalo). :)

Please tell me where I can buy either the UHR Gold Eagle or the reverse proof gold eagle for $2000 lol.
