What do you guys use to get the great shots that I see on this forum?

    CoyboyStudio, IdirectMart, etc.

How do you get the lighting so perfect?

I have a Canon Power Shot SX20 IS and am finding it extremely frustrating getting a good shot of my coins.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

My first suggestion is to read Mark Goodmans article.
Although I do the lighting different, the article has great information on the settings and other things. Buy his book if you are able. He is sold out, but you should be able to find it on Amazon.

Here is some basic info I threw together a while back on my setup.
Post image editing, I use google picassa and Adobe fireworks.

Couple samples of my latest images.

    WOW! Great information!

    Thanks a BUNCH!

When looking at your "My Hardware" the partial and direct light pictures seem to show the camera at an angle and not directly over the coin. Am I correct?

I try and get the camera as close to 90 degrees from the coin as possible, otherwise the coin will look oblong. However, I don't move the camera, I raise the back of the board to align it.

    OK

    I get it.

Thanks. But you are tilting the camera?

BTW what do you think about the setups that I mentioned in my first post? Are they worth it? Why or why not.
