I posted a video on youtube about this topic, it's purely my opinion, but I would love some feedback.
I don't mistreat my bullion but I don't go the gloves route with bullion. I have some early Kooks, some Libertads and a few other semi-numi bullion that is in airtites or flips. the rest just goes in a storage box. some is in tubes 'cause that's the way I bought them.
I don't know what glove people have or what brand to get, so I just use sandwich zip lock bag to handle my silver bar
I kinda like these things: http://www.uline.com/BL_1016/Latex-...gclid=CJDSkMnOwbgCFVOe4AodNGIAmg&gclsrc=aw.ds To me they're much better than white cotton gloves, gives a little better tactile feel on the fingers when trying to handle a coin, and keeps the oils off. I don't think they're harmful to the coins being latex (and making sure to get the powder free ones).
What about Nitrile gloves? They are the ones doctors and nurses use to prevent pricks from needles and such. They are a little 'sturdier' than latex. Anybody know if these will be alright?
Nitrile will be excellent unless you are using them in acetone. I buy mine at Costco and they are excellent. You can use them in silver dip or xylene, but they are rated poor for acetone.
Believe it or not I use them in my restaurants kitchen. Lol. They are darn good heat resistors and don't break down as quickly as latex. Good to know I can use them for my coins too.
