So is PCGS the way to go? I have like 0 experience buying slabbed coins. I have a set from the Mint coming, but I do want to buy a slabbed set.
For modern US coins, PCGS always brings a premium over NGC on the secondary market, first strike always brings a premium over non-first strike, and 69's are considered by many to be culls/rejects.
Thanks for that info. And within PCGS, as far as all of the different labels, is that all just personal preference? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Historically, same year/mm silver eagles in a PCGS first strike PR70 holder will sell for about the same $'s on the secondary market (eBay), regardless of the label.
Im looking at the 2011 sets, too. $1400 for the 70 and $750 for the 69s, i just cant justify THAT much of a premium. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
All Silver Town PCGS FS PR70's have been sold out, in just a few hours. Hype or not, somebody likes them...
I'm really surprised that this set didn't blow away the 2012-S set of last year. I was thinking at least 50k more, and thought realistically it'd be 400k sets.
