How much should i pay for junk silver? the shop is asing 19.75 x times face, but maybe since im going tommorow on my birthday I could convince them to go 19x or 18.5 times face. Is that too much? Im looking at getting a tube of mercs.
I am not sure of any coin shops that give a "birthday discount", maybe if you have a strong relationship with the workers/owners and have purchased a great deal in the past but it is probably unlikely. At this point the bigger issue might be if they even have silver in stock to sell, if their stock is low they are less likely to give any discount.
Why don't you bring a young kid in with you? I find it doesn't hurt in the negotiations when I say I can't afford it and he starts crying.
