    Mr. Lord. You slay me.

I didn't call them (you?) a criminal. Read it again. Slowly.

I don't care. For the sake of argument, I did do a quick search of the top bullion and precious metal dealers in America and I'll give you one guess which company I didn't see there? If you want to convince anyone, why not provide some data? Like a website link to a site that might convince someone of something?

    Mr. Lord. Too funny.

    Outstanding! I'm happy for you.

However, given that you have invested ZERO time and energy in building a reputation on this site, I will place a similiar amount of trust in your opinion.

Did APMEX ever claim to be accredited by the BBB when it wasn't?

I'm predicting Onederwoman has made her last post here. I did kind of like my new title though.

    Me too Ms.Der.

Trustedgolddealers.com - appears to be a site of a collection of reviews of various bullion dealers. However, after three "reviews" the language is all "we are one of the most trusted..." Even more telling is when you click the "gold dealers" tab and it goes absolutely nowhere. One of the most obvious shill sites I've ever seen.

Wiki.answers - Someone asks "Is Pure Gold Global the largest gold dealer in the world?" Answer: "Yes the are." Brilliant! I'm convinced! Too bad nowhere else can confirm this on the web. Seems odd.

Yellowpages - The company has a phone number. I suppose that is a good sign. Two reviews, both with awful grammer. Not promising.

Gype - 6 reviews. Two are unrelated. A whole 4 positive reviews. Are they legitimate? Maybe. Grammar is better.

    Reviewcentre - 3 positive reviews.

Insiderpages - 5 positive reviews, one review saying they were scammed. Even if the positive reviews are legit, I don't think a 16% scam rate is good.

Facebook - They have a facebook page!

I take it back I'm convinced Ms Der. I'm going to go buy some bullion from that company right now!

As of posting, their Verisgin logo is still fake.

They are also falsyfing their BBB accreditation.

That alone is enough evidence to prove they are not a legitimate company.

Now it look like they brought misses Shilly to try and shine them in a positive light.

    The verdict still stands.

Fake verisign logo, false BBB accreditation.

    Obviously not.

I don't know that anyone claimed that any website was calling them scammers. I am curious as to which posts here mentioned any such thing. Would you care to share?

It doesn't get much more obvious than this one here guys.

I feel like I'm reading a how to book on being the worst scam artist/company in the world.

All these things are what you don't do when trying to scam folks.

I'm not necessarily saying this company is scamming people, because I don't know for sure. Here's what I do know and none of it inspires confidence:

The website claims to be safe and secure, however the website is not secured with a certificate.
The website is not using any sort of encryption.
The website is displaying a Verisign logo, but the logo is not properly linked.
The business is supposedly located in NYC, but the website is registered in Monier, Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.
The business is apparently not accredited by the BBB, but they are displaying a logo that claims they are, despite apparently being served with a cease and desist order.
One new member here has had a questionable experience with them.
One new member here joined two days after this thread was started and their first post was to shower the business in question with praise.
Of those two new members, I believe the one that started this thread is sincere.
Most of the established members who have posted in this thread have experience buying bullion, but none of them have any experience with this company, despite their claim of being "one of America's largest retailers of Gold, Silver and other Precious Metals."

Again, I'm not saying they're running a scam, but they certainly aren't earning my trust. A business that doesn't earn my trust doesn't get my business either.

As for the Verisign logo not being properly linked, here's what I'm referring to. When you click on the logo, you should see the identity information associated with the site:

Many years ago, I was interested in buying photographic equipment online. That particular market segment suffers from an unusually large number of disreputable dealers -- the most common scheme is to advertise lowball prices on popular items, then do a high-pressure sales pitch for a bunch of overpriced accessories. If the shopper declines those accessories, the original item suddenly, mysteriously goes out of stock.

When I started investigating these companies, I quickly discovered that there were a number of online rating sites that gave them stellar reviews. Oddly enough, it seemed quite difficult to actually leave a new review on those sites -- and, when I went to well-known legitimate review sites like resellerratings.com, I found that the companies I was investigating had abysmal ratings.

All this is meant to remind everyone that not all online reviews are created equal. Not, of course, that this has anything whatsoever to do with any businesses, review sites, or posters mentioned on this thread.

Oooh, more information on the certificate. The certificate that is installed on the server to verifiy the identity of Pure Gold Global is registered to kalalufestival.com and it expired on 10/16/2008. The Kalalu Festival is also in Saint Lucia, but if you try to visit kalalufestival.com, the page that is displayed appears to be in Chinese. I'm suspecting it was hacked.

Overall, their attention to detail and concern for my security and privacy on the Internet is nothing short of stunning! I know where I'm NOT placing my next bullion order.

It's actually Japanese. If you translate it, it's about permanent hair removal. Yup, sounds legit.

I think the thread has served the purpose of the original post. Any farther and the accusations on both sides will not get more moderate so I am closing this.
