A couple things that I'm pondering are, will this release cause the reverse proof coins to come down in value? It might, but having different dates and mints might make them different enough that it doesn't affect them very much at all. Will this enhanced finish coin be the big hit, or will it draw about the same money as the reverse proof?

I'll also mention that I purchased another set of 2012S anniversary eagles for under $160 shipped to my door in NGC PF69 with the San Fran label...so they can be had for less than issue and the cost of grading, that is for sure, and if I pay attention, I could probably buy a few per month for that money if I wanted to.

Lets see with 23 days if the average daily total stays right around 5000 it will be a bit above 300k. But I don't think it will maintain that level of sales my guess is the final odometer will read around 275-280 with final sales numbers around 250k.

When it comes to ASE's, I try to get at least 10 of each date/mint, business and proof strikes. Got mine to!

2012s and 2013w two coins american eagle silver dollar set were of the same bracket. and price for these two sets should be more or less at the same level. that's between $159.95 to $179.95. why?.

    (1) 2012s reverse proof - first reverse proof with (s) mint mark. mintage - 224,981
    (2) 2012s regular proof - lowest mintage for regular proof with (s) mint mark. mintage - 282,373
    (3) 2013w reverse proof - first reverse proof with (w) mint mark. mintage 187,541 (not final). estimate mintage 300,000 more or less.
    (4) 2013w enhanced uncirculated - first enhanced uncirculated with (w) mint mark. mintage 187,541 (not final). estimate 300,000 more or less.

final note: there were too many american eagle silver dollars. and there are no special or new things that will really encourage me to buy them. the really good stuffs were the 1995w set, 2006w set, 2011 set. that's it. any new american eagle special issues surface are nothing but surplus.

Did anybody else get NGCs email yesterday explaining their process for grading these new sets? The most interesting thing i found was they are allowing the black retro holders for this series only, and only through bulk submissions and even then it has to be specially requested by the person sending the coins in. I bet those will be HOT when they get to the market.

My crystalball is working today - it says far in the future the type of slab won't mean a thing, along with wrappers and different mint packaging options - there will be a move back to basics, where the only thing that matters is the coin. Wait a minute, I'm seeing more - the TPG'ers will be embroiled in a scandle that brings them down - again, forcing us back to basics.

Ok, back to the topic. Crystalball says, 300K+- 2013 sets sold.

I guess this is why they say to always get a second opinion. I read the site information and got something totally different from the notice. Some one, pick up the phone and call them.

Since the type of slab seems to be important, I should try to get 1 set of each in each type of slab offered. That way, if any of the slabs become more collectible, I can just crack out the ASE and sell the slab....some things just amaze me to no end....

I won't spend my dime, as I suggested, to call them. Labels don't thrill me and I don't plan to have mine graded either. It's like the collectors want so desperately to have something valuable, they don't even care about the coin perse', just give me anything to hype in order to make money. The TPG's are the Pied Piper and we will follow them off the cliff.

Hang on guys, I don't necessarily agree with the type of slabbing or labels either. I was however pointing out the email that was sent from NGC yesterday and about the option to have the black slabs, as well as the fact that some folks are indeed willing to pay more for black plastic versus white plastic.

I personally don't care about any of that as I only ordered one set for my personal enjoyment. Anyway wouldn't you need 100 sets minimum for a bulk submission so methinks big time dealer and telemarketers will get the majority of those slabs.

I must admit I think the black slabs are a cool looking novelty, and I would definitely acquire a graded set if they ever become reasonable, but that's about it. I also appreciate the NGC edge view slabs. That doesn't mean I only get those coins or look over everything else, but I do appreciate being able to see and experience the coin like you can in those holders.

Still always go for the coin. If you don't the coin, then the coin will never love you.
