My order went through lightning quick. No wait at all. I was just seeing if the site was working, but when it went this quickly, I decided to order today rather than wait.
The mint makes a boatload of money on these, about $90 per set sold before you count in expenses. Even after expenses though I'm sure their profit margin is pretty huge on these. Little to no chance they'll suspend them imo
if your order locks up, close out the window you are using. open a whole new browser window and start from scratch. i do not know why this works, but it does. i tried for 1-2 hrs earlier and had no luck, and then just happened to try that and it went right through.
It took me 4 hours to get through to make my order. The operator told me that all orders are back ordered and that they don't even start minting the coins until they have a good idea of how many orders they're going to get. She said those who wait to order, those orders will most likely ship the same way they did with the 2 coin s ASE's. Meaning some will get their orders in the fall.
When I went on, the web site said to come back later but I just went in and signed on to my account. My order went through right away. I ordered around 4:00 est. Now comes the waiting...
I was told 1 to 2 weeks to ship. My order says IN PROCESS and back ordered... Love the clowns at PBGS.
I ordered 5 today. Also I noticed they delayed shipping by a month. It was suppose to ship mid-to-late June. Now shipping is July 25.
My ship date is 7/11/13 #414863-- ordered three sets but I may cancel them if MCM sells 70's for a fair price
Have you guys already been charged for your coins? I ordered a set a 2-3 hours ago through phone, gave them my email, credit card info, etc. but I haven't gotten an email from them and I haven't been charged for it yet. I'm so nervous something got screwed up.:rollling:
Well I just got off the phone with one of the US Mint reps and seems like I was right to be nervous. They butchered my -name -address and -email address Hopefully they got it right the second time around. *sigh*
Why do collectors always think they are going to buy an American Eagle coin set for less than issue price??? I have never heard of such a thing nor have I ever seen it and I have bought every single ASE set the mint has had to offer. These types of sets do not go below issue price.....unless you have someone who is desperate for money or stole it and just wants to unload the darn thing. The price on these are set in stone at $139... minimum! If you find them for less please share because we would all like to know who the fool is. Sorry for the rant as I don't mean to harp on anyone.......just saying.
Also, any numbers that you see and dates of release are just BS. Just ignore them. On the 2012 ASE set that was released, I bought my set on the very last day and was one of the first ones to receive it a few weeks later. I surely didn't expect that, but it just blew the "first in, first out" theory to pieces. I don't know how the system works, but it surely isn't like everyone thinks it does.
Actually Joe, I saw a completed listing on a San Fran set go for $116. Poor fellow took a beating with that one.......
