I picked this up at the coin shop today and noticed it had a pretty cool serial number. Do you think anyone would pay a premium for it? I noticed most bars start with C7x.. or C9x.. How does their numbering work exactly?
The numbers are more for the manufacture than anything else when it comes to bullion. I've had some "old pour loaf" silver bullion before. It had low numbers searched and searched and this was the conclusion. Dusty
Makes sense, is there any way to verify authenticity by yourself? Or is that an internal-only number, because if it was then stamping the number would seem almost pointless for the consumer.
This has been several years ago when I had these. To be honest with you I don't recall. Seems like there is a way I think I may have even called the manufacture. Is there a concern that make you think something fishy? Dusty
No not at all, I just figured they could make good use of the numbers with an online database or something.
Yeah I don't think they do you can check their website for some info. Think that's what I ended up doing. That's a nice bar. I use to love bullion. Silver and gold had a lot of fun with it felt like a pirate. Lol. Lucky for me sold when $40 and $1800 was the spot got out of it. Now have put a small fortune into Lincoln's. There is money to made on bullion the problem I faced was when I first started buying and selling it was fun and then it turned to an obsession. The lincoln set though is just something I do when I see a nice coin at a shop or show and it's a fair price. I still have some bullion and from the looks of things will have to give it to my great great great grand kids to do any good. Lol. Nice bar though none the less. Dusty
I will keep that in mind as I start off my collection.. I'm 25 so I'm thinking decades in advance. Unfortunately we won't see those $40 and $1800 prices for a while I bet.
