Have you seen the show "The Walking Dead"? You can't just drink any water; it may be contaminated with zombie juice.
That was a well that was contaminated and that was flippin' disgusting! :too-funny: But, I also have some really good water filters. :thumb:
The amount of money you might lose by going with worn out silver dimes still pales to the premiums on fractional silver bullion. People could just weigh the dime, multiply by 0.9 purity, and tell you how much it's worth. I only like fractional bullion for gold. If SHTF the smart people will make you melt your metal anyway with all the fakes going around. I know I would. Yes there are fake Mercs, there are fake eagles, fake stagecoach bars, you name it.
You guys hoarding PM's come see me when the SHTF. I'll gladly trade you my stashed and stocked food/water for as much PM as I can get, so that when things come back around I'll be in zero financial troubles.
Ok I'm ready to get flamed here, but if I remember history correctly, when people needed a denomination say less than 3c, they made copper coins. I would think that IF there ever were to be a situation where change was needed, something other than little flakes of silver would be used. JMO
I completely agree. That is why metals are superior money. You can melt them into whatever weight you want and no value is lost. Easy to make change.
True, and wouldn't ya know it we have an ample supply of copper coins that each have an intrinsic value of around $0.02 each.
Let's see, a dime is $2.0457 (from coinflation just now) and the price of silver is $28.28/oz, so that gives a dime at 0.072 oz - not too far from that 0.1 oz piece you are talking about.
it doesn't hurt me in the slightest. I'm not getting a check from the govt. By the way I consider people who take tax deductions on their mortage as a 47 percenter. unless you're saying the fact that romney lost "hurts" (?)
