Picked up this lovely set of war nickels in a capital holder. Overall all very nice coins. I come across these beautiful sets where many times one of the nickels is just the black sheep of the bunch. I don't believe it was swapped out, but I suppose it's possible. Can you guess which one I like the most?
Mind telling me how much you paid? And my guess is you like the 1944 p the best. I know I certainly do. Edit, ah gosh tom you beat me!
Too easy. Of course it's the 44P. I have always felt these BU sets, when all original, are a great deal for the price. These sets can be had anywhere between $40-$130. This one was around $120 I believe. Which I normally wouldn't spend, since I have so many already. But I felt that '44 calling me through the crappy sale pictures. You can manage to find great deals on auctions. I stole this set for $50, and it is overall much better than the one in this thread. Images here. http://www.cointalk.com/t212158/
I think you may have been informed before, but it usually isn't considered polite to ask that question.
Most all of us know that you love the toners, Greg, so that caused me to consider the 42-S because the mintmark looks to be a little "drunker" than some of the others. Chris
Thanks everyone! I'm surprised at the variety of favorites you all chose. It's a nice mix of beauties for sure. For me, the 44P is the obvious choice, but I have the advantage of seeing them all together in hand. That guy just blasts your sensory receptors with positive juju. You can even smell the awesome. The 46 S is a close second though. I have a thing for the crusty toners, especially with the elusive red flavor. They are all nice except for that dreadful 44 P. eek...
Greg one Very nice WWII nickle set!!! :thumb: Priceless if they all had 5/6 Full steps! I am not sure what yr the changed to 6Full steps. but I think it was 1964-1967 somewhere around then?
