APMEX is my favorite too. They do tend to be high on shipping, but they now have an ebay store which you can check out. The items are priced a smidge higher on ebay than on their website, but the shipping was much less last time I ordered, and additional items were like .25/each. Depending on the size of your order their website or their ebay site might be better so check out both.

After thorough investigation of prices & reputation my clients have used APMEX repeatedly, ordering large amounts of PMs from that vendor. Excellent service model, bar none.
Less well known here is how sophisticated their pricing is: APMEX is highly representative of the best-price retail PM market (eBay auctions.) They look to be the biggest there, no?
I'd like to see sales #s of majors listed here or some other hard data. Is anything known?

Also: If you can get an approximate deal from a reputable LOCAL dealer (which may be possible) then support your LCS instead.

I'll second the notion of PM through local dealers. Walk in with the cash, walk out with the goods - no worries about shipping costs, lost packages, being home for the mailman ect. Cost is pretty close, considering I might pay a buck or two more but no shipping fees.

Another benefit is not having another set of people knowing who I am and what I buy.

    definer definitely....! LOL

I have used both Silvertowne and Aydin Coins. I like Aydin Coins the best and their shipping is reasonable. They also sell on ebay and many times offer free shipping.

Worst bullion dealer is the US mint.

+1 on Silvertowne, especially if you buy their bars. Competitive premiums and they often offer free shipping on select items.

I've just started collecting silver Bullion. Used APMEX twice and very satisfied. Although shipping is on the higher end. It is about $12.95 for orders up to $250 and $19.95 for orders above $250.

Provident seems pretty fair on shipping. You tend to wait a few extra days "processing" for some reason. I like Silvertowne, but I'm an IN resident, so I get stuck paying taxes.

I'm new to bullion investing and have recently made several online purchases. During my dealer research I found that APMEX was one of a limited number of authorized purchasers of bullion direct from the US Mint. The qualifications of an authorized purchaser are fairly high not the least of which are the financial & accounting requirements. To me logic dictated that as a mint distributor the products I purchased from APMEX would be authentic & good quality. My purchases from them have all gone well. Accurate & timely. I realize their prices and shipping are higher than other sources but the trade off is acceptable in return for the level of product quality & service.

Modern Coin Mart is good for graded (and ungraded) bullion.

I just buy ASE and Indian/Buffalo Silver rounds local.

    For my World Silver Bullion:
Provident is better on small orders.
APMEX is best on bigger orders as they have the most selection.

The most $$$ is the US Mint. I have gotten a few items from them, but I keep it just a few.

Sold 13 troy to Provident. It took four days for the check to arrive. They're really good about paying out in an efficient and timely manner.

I've used APMEX. My only complaint is that the check out process takes a lot of steps.
