Largely due to the efforts of the Michigan State Numismatic Society, and members Al Bobrofsky and Steven Bieda, enough money was raised to purchase a beautiful headstone that befitingly memorializes the designer of the Jefferson nickel. Felix Schlag, of Owosso, was a member of MSNS in the 1960‘s. He and his wife are now buried in Owosso. Here is a photograph of Mr. Schlag's original design plaster moulds.
