Schlag memorial completed

    Largely due to the efforts of the Michigan State Numismatic Society, and members Al Bobrofsky and Steven Bieda, enough money was raised to purchase a beautiful headstone that befitingly memorializes the designer of the Jefferson nickel.
    Felix Schlag, of Owosso, was a member of MSNS in the 1960‘s. He and his wife are now buried in Owosso.


    Here is a photograph of Mr. Schlag's original design plaster moulds.


    Here are a couple of autugraphed cards.

    That was a very good read. Thank you for posting. I hadn't even thought about the history of the designers of coins and currency, but now I'm curious about all of it. The history of all the coins period is even more exciting now. Thanks again.
