Does the mint no longer produce the 1/10 1/4 and 1/2 Platinum Eagles?

Do they only just produce the 1 ounce Proof coins now?

    I'm just curious

As far as I know, the last year they minted the fractional platinum eagles was 2008 (also the last, and only, year they made fractional gold buffaloes). At one time they were talking about discontinuing the fractional gold eagles too but they decided against it, since they still sold well. In 2008 mint sales were dropping, and the mint decided to cut back on the number of products they had out.

So short answer, yes, they only mint platinum eagles in 1 oz now, as has been the case since 2009. It may change in the future but wouldn't count on it any time soon.

If the mint took away fractional gold eagles, that would be mightly foolish.

I'm disappointed in that they don't offer fractional platinum coins. There has been some nice designs since then and would love to have one, but the 1 oz coins are out of my price range.

Waste of time in my opinion Juan, government is not going to do anything unless they want too.

Sales were just horrible. I am sure the die making/setup costs for such things are pretty high, and the mint thought they were losing money offering them.

Unfortunately, if no one buys, the mint cannot continue offering products just for a few.
