I believe there are plenty of folks who will say it is in fact possible for metal in their mouths to act as a semiconductor. Surely it is not impossible, though probably not common.

Safety issues regarding amalgam, well, we each have to do our own research on that issue, IMO. There are plenty of differing opinions, each well presented.

A jar of mercury? Yikes! Good luck with that! Too bad it's not a jar of dimes instead :)

I'm not going to get into a deep discussion about this because I don't want to hijack the thread...but I will state one fact on the issue. In the 100+ years of dental amalgam use, there has never been a single scientific study show any evidence that dental amalgam is harmful to patient's health...not ever. And there have been plenty of studies. Sure, lots of articles have been published to say it's harmful...but none of those studies had data from decent scientific studies.

I think the thread has played out, so if that is the only reason you withhold your discourse . . . . . .

...and just the other day you were giving me a hard time with math. :D

Fluid ounce is a capacity, not a weight. A cup is 8 fluid ounces.

Actually a fluid ounce of mercury is about .88 ounces. A gallon of the stuff would weigh 113 pounds.

Yeah, like I said, it is that wierd rithmatic.

That sounds about right. However, should you ever be in a car accident, I like to multiply that by thousands. Legal sums are functions of the type of law paracticed. Its a whole other arena of rithmatic. That's logical, right?

As good as anything I have heard from my legal friends! I do think that there will be a group that will defend/prosecute
artificial/created lifeforms in the future. "Nanobots in Chains" following "Clones in professional Sports" tonight on FOX.

It is on topic. People are discusing people collecting mercury in their teeth so they can hear voices.

I believe so. With technological advances, the law needs to change or amend to cover those changes, especially when it comes to artificially created life.

On topic: I do not collect mercury.

Owning mercury seems like more of a negative than a positve to me. Regarding its use in teeth, you can't receive any radio signals unless you hook the tooth to an antenna.
