This design has dots, like cheap printing. To my thinking, that indicates an inferior design.

 

I have shared this coin in another thread, but I also think it belongs here.

One of my favourite proof coins, from the Lasqueti Mint, in British Columbia, Canada. This is a private mint, run by a couple of retired people, whereby these silver coins are accepted as local currency.

I actually thought of buying some of those coins of the members of Turtle Island.

 

I guess i get to post my favorite bird coin since i didn't see it on the other pages...

Nordic Gold - the same composition as the 10, 20 and 50 cent coins in the euro area. There is about as much gold in them as in your Golden Dollars.

Just posted this Japan 50 sen in the world coin section

This is a Japan 1923 (Yoshihito year 12) 50 Sen coin. It is quite flashy in hand. I was drawn to the phoenix bird design around the denomination on the reverse.
