Actually I HAVE tasted silver! If you hold a silver coin and a copper coin (old dime and cent) in a V shape with your fingers and place your tongue so that it touches both of them, you will get a sour taste from the simple battery formed between copper and silver. Radiation has a smell too, but that is another story.
It would probably not be apreciated if I posted what I thought was good, but let me just suggest that the coin may not be the only object that needs close inspection.
How exactly do you 'rube' something? rube [roob] noun Informal . an unsophisticated person from a rural area; hick. Origin: 1895–1900; generic use of Rube; compare earlier use of Reuben in same sense Related Words for : rube bumpkin, chawbacon, hayseed, hick, yahoo ^From Dictionary.com uuhhhhh kinda funny but no offence meant Ruben! :goofer:
in my experiance all the silver nickels i found were a blackesh color from wear. even on my silver dimes it has some. but before we can prove anything, we need pics and the weight of the coin.
When you do the taste test remember, if it taste like rice it would be a Chinese counterfeit and not worth more than the "silver" content.
