I know it is popular in some circles to just flat-out make things up because they support other tightly held beliefs, but the comment in question is something that would be easy to fact check if it was true.

The fact that I am not bothering to look up information to you isn't revisionism. You asked me to explain. I honored your request. There is no need to insult me for asking that having given you the information that YOU requested, that you now do your own follow up. I've got other things to do. If you simply wish to dismiss it all as "revisionism" without having looked into it, that is your choice. However it doesn't speak well to your willingness to learn new information.

I know of no reputable historical source that agrees with your theory about the cause of the Revolution. Neither do you. LOL

How do you know if you haven't looked?

There is nothing to look at. You just flat-out made it up and you were busted. LOL. You have no shred of evidence and no historical source. Of course, you can't admit it. Everyone knows that you will post 100 posts to twist and turn and look for a way out of your error. But there isn't one. Man-up an admit it for once.

Do you deny there was Colonial Scrip and that the BoE purposely manipulated it? Is this what you are saying?

Have you looked to find that there is nothing to look at? Or are you are just stuck in your high school history course?

If you provide a reputable historical source, I'll look at it. If all you have is internet goldbug revisionist history with no supporting documentation, at least admit it. You seem ready to accept any lie as long as it supports what you would like to believe, and ready to ignore history as researched and recorded from the beginning of the Republic. We used to call such folks "gullible."

I'm waiting for some reputable source that states that the Bank of England manipulation of colonial money was "the real, but not talked about, reason for the American Revolution."

You couldn't be more wrong about me.
I have no dog in this race. As far as this thread goes, I don't care what or who caused the American Revolution. Since leaving high school, I have found, in my own research, that most of the world history they tried to teach me there was unmitigated BS. My eyes and my mind are always very open.

Good for you! :thumb: Just be careful about which sources you believe. There is a lot of garbage out there. I had a history textbook from the 1800s that I have since given away. There was a lot more detail about the treatment of the colonials by the British than is generally provided in books today that focus on dates, battles and governmet edicts. It's all interesting.

OK then this proves I have not been "busted" as you put it. You are simply refuse to believe it. I've said before that I don't wish to change your beliefs.

Heh. I didn't think you would answer the question that I posed to you. It means you really don't know anyway.

No matter, it has nothing to do with the real point anyway which I will now return to.

That is, there is no time in history that I can remember that the US financial system has been turned into a positive feedback system as is being done with now with QE. It has not happened since Colonial times.

As you should. I never understood why people, who are participating on an investment forum, where people are seeking to gain knowledge about investing, would completely dismiss an issue raised without looking into it themselves all while spending a great deal of effort to discredit the ones making the issue. (with nonsense)

It's one of the reasons that I really don't participate here that much anymore. It's unfortunate.

You know, if just once in your life you would admit that you just flat-out made something up, or that it was just your opinion and not fact, perhaps more people would respect your posts. But you are the one on the hook to prove what you said, not me. So just twist in the wind. Everyone is waiting for some small item of documentation for your claim instead of putting the burden of disproof on the readers.

I will ask you again. Do you deny there was Colonial Scrip and that the BofE manipulated it? If you refuse to take a stand on it then drop it. Or, it means you are trolling.

    Cloudsweeper=Troll? ...I gotta give that a "No".

I can't confirm or deny that the BOE manipulated colonial script because I don't have a source either way. What I'm waiting for from YOU is some reputable source to back your claim that the BOE manipulation was THE CAUSE of the revolution. If you don't have one, and this should be simple to provide if it is true, then everyone here can believe with confidence that you made it up because it fits with your world view. So either lay your cards on the table or fold. It's your move.

OK, then we are back to where we started. Your accusations of me making stuff up are nonsense and trolling because you just admitted that you don't know. Do your own research if you really are interested. I suspect that you are not because your comments in this topic are really to cast FUD against criticism of the Federal Reserve's actions.
