2012 Silver Eagle San Francisco Proof Set "PRICE WATCH"

2012s two coins set sold as low as $153.95 a set from e-bay. i think second wave shipment is coming soon. this set should go further south.

I wonder if the other years of Reverse Proofs will come down in price? In the haste shown by the US Mint to make this set buy-able by everyone they screwed up the whole enchilada! The sale of this set and subsequent failure have made me a non-returning customer. :thumb:

 

The completed listings for these on eBay showed nothing that low (back to 8/4). Digits transposed?

 

Grade : Price

By my own grading results (NGC), I have received 8 2012S proof eagles graded 69 and 2 graded 70.
Current PCGS pops have 7172 graded 69 and 3588 graded 70.

Despite the total number minted, I think that the 70's will eventually command a higher price.

Does anyone have any other thoughts on this.

 

Absolutely 70s will rule, and 69s will merge with ogp.

 

Yeah I think that is already evident by the pricing of PCGS pr70 sets... last time I checked they were going for about $500~

 

I ordered on the last day at 3pm and my order was slated to ship 10/31 and now it changed to 9/28. I think they will be getting this last shipment out sooner than originally thought. However, my cancel box is still there, along with the back-ordered status. I just want them in my hands already and still can't believe I cancelled my original order on the first day. Maybe they will send me some sweet 70s, learning from the problems from the 1st and 2nd batches. Wish in one hand ...

 

There seems to be many more 70's than 69's in the reverse proof.

I'm hanging on to my proof 70's for a couple of years to see what happens to the price.

 

I got 6 reverse proof that are PCGS PR70.

 

The proofs are running 2 (69) to 1 (70).

The reverse proofs are running equal numbers in 69 and 70.

I'm thinking that the prices for the proof 70's will pop in the future.

 

I agree. I have 13(69) and 6(70).

 

the u.s. mint should stop selling 2012s currency and coin set after reaching 50,000. so that it can help and make up their errors made during the 2012s american eagle two coins set by producing more eagle proof. this way it can help erase some anger from the collectors

 

Ok so this is the best place I could find to rant so here goes. FU PCGS!!!! So out of the 10 sets I recieved from the mint, I sent 4 sets in to be graded as the quality control was for crap on these... Of the 4 I sent in I thought 3 were 70's and the 4th was the best other RP I had... So I log in this morning to find that my stuff was shipped, although I recieved no email notification.... Guess they figured there was no need for me to get excited...

So out of 10 sets ordered I got 2 PR70's and ZERO PR70 Reverse Proofs.... I am so F-ing ****ed off right now I could explode... Between these and my MS69 W gold eagles and PR69 2006 RP's I say FU PCGS!! YOU WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER DIME FROM ME!

EDIT: Let me add that I just cancelled my last 5 sets which I ordered from the mint, maybe it will make the rest of the garbage they sent me worth more...

 

I ordered 4 sets on the last day back in July and they will be showing up at my house today. I guess we will see the price dipping as some of these(not mine) new sets hit the bay.

 

Paradise Mint is offering this set in the 70 grade at $259.95. It comes with two different NGC lables. If you want the special black lable it is $279.95. Both prices include shipping.

 

So when is the next shipping date supposed to be? 10/31?
And when do they charge your card?

I had a 10/31 date and I received them last week. They charge the card before they ship them.

 

I have 2 sets left to receive, and the shipping date is showing as 10/31. I am tempted to just cancel them as I would bet that they are just waiting and shipping out returns now. I already had to return 2 sets because they were pretty beat up.
