I'm a huge Panda fan, and found this place for purchasing it. My main concern is the high price premium (41%!!!). Is this normal for silver Pandas bought in the EU? It's too bad because they offer their products without VAT, which has been a pain to me before. The site's other coins have much lower premiums, so I'm kind of torn as to what to get, although Panda is my favorite definitely. Any personal experiences are greatly appreciated.
Well how much in US dollars is it? New coins that are as popular as the Chinese Panda's do carry a premium. Once I went to a coin show and bought one, I think it was around $10 over spot, may have even been less. Either way I didn't mind handing over $10 over spot for a brand new 2009 Panda from a reputable seller. BTW, what does VAT free mean?
Yes I'm worried about the fakes also. That's another thing I'm very conscious about. VAT-free, basically means you don't have to pay the usual sales tax, which is like 20%-ish in the UK. I'll be ordering a couple and let you guys know how it goes.
Good Luck with purchasing them. I bought my first panda this year from a reputable seller to add to my "world bullion stack". You'll really enjoy the design as its truly a beautiful coin
Wow. I never noticed those characters by the steps before! Anyway, so I got just a couple of the Panda coins, and may buy some more later. High premium of course but then silver jumped like 10% the past fortnight anyway right? Will probably get some Maples and Kangaroos as well. I'm glad it arrived, and I brought the coins for inspection near my place. Apparently it's real silver, and the dealer is fairly reputable anyway.
Of course everyone knows that inside all the pandas are a chewy delicious carmel center. :foot-mouth:
