Gainesville and Apmex have pre-sales on 2013 Snake and Kooks. The 1oz lunar Snakes are not listed in the pre-sale, so don't fear. If you want the odd sizes the prices are better at Gainesville.

Well, the silver coins are up at Provident too. They have the best price, but they're not for sale, just coming soon. Anybody diving in or are you holding off?

Let me jump in here before you do something desperate. I loaded up on the 2012 dragon because it is my birth year. I purchased a few 2012 kookaburras because I like the design. I have no real interest in the snake. I don't really like having 2 birds on the kookaburra. So, as of now, I'm saying no to both.

I know I'm a pain, but my #1 criterion for purchasing a coin is if I like it for 1 reason or another. In this case, I don't.

 

I am likely to get a tube of Kooks and Koalas but probably only a few snakes because I can't find any dragons at a reasonable price.

What the devil is going on with Ampex? I can't seem to get in there at the moment.

 

Wait... 2012 is your birth year, but you've been on CT since 2010. Confuzzleing, no?

 

My guess is the sign for the year he was born is the Dragon.

 

I grew up very quickly. Seriously, what I should have said was I was born in the year of the dragon in terms of the Chinese lunar calendar.

Hey, green, I just was on Apmex and it seemed fine.

 

OK....all is well now.

 

Gainesville is a better deal than Apmex, and Provident is better still, except they're "coming soon". In the end you won't actually get the silver until the middle of September. The only thing I see any sense of urgency on is the 1oz because of the 300k mintage limit on the snake and 500k on the kook. The others will be made until the dealers scream "no mas". One other thing, Apmex and Gainesville dropped the price on the 1oz dragon to $70, which is still too much money....by about $25 in my not so humble opinion....

If you're into the gold lunars, the 1oz has a limit of 30k. Apmex has them up for just south of $1800, Gainesville is holding out and Provident is 1830 or so. I wouldn't be too concerned on that coin, there are still dragons around and that is supposedly the hottest coin of the series.

 

I am waiting until Provident gets the snake coin in and then "strike." :yes: TC

 

Waiting sometimes backfires depending on the product. Bullion issues are general no problem

 

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the funnel web is a dog so far. That might be symptoms of Perth dealers selling directly on ebay or many other reasons, but getting more than $140 for that coin is a tough row to hoe.
