Good Deal Or Not?

I recently just started buying silver and collecting coins. I was at a local coin store and saw these for $1.50 a piece tax included. And also bought 2 silver eagles for $30 a piece. Just wondering if the dimes came by themselves or were taken from a proof set, and if i got a good deal.

    dsmith23 Gotta get 'em all

they are taken from a silver proof set, and melt is right around $2 on a dime right now, not that bad of a deal, and also

If you got those for $1.50 each, you did just fine. Melt is about $2 each on them, never mind the grades.

The $30 each on ASEs is fine too. That's a perfectly reasonable premium on govt. bullion.

The dimes were taken from a proof set and submitted to NGC, probably in hopes of PF70 grades to be resold for a profit.

Real good price on the dimes and the price on the eagles is pretty good too.

Another question has anyone had any of the America the beautiful 5ozt. bullion coins? He had those as well but for the same price of a 5ozt. bar, which should i get or does it really matter which?

I think the 5oz ATB's will be a better value in time than 5oz bars ;)

Depends on whether they're bullion grade, or prooflike. If prooflike, they will most likely carry a better premium over a regular 5oz bar, and more than likely appreciate in value more. If they're bullion grade, either one will be about the same in value over time.

Many will debate the collectibility of bullion coins, but there is a market out there commanding a good premium for graded proof bullion such as the 5oz ATB. You can find plenty of threads here via the search if you want to take a look at all the info available.

These were bullion grade in regular air tight cases.:)

Then buy one of each... ;)

At that point it's melt value, so whichever one you like better. Me, I have both types - rounds and bars - for 1oz and 5oz weights, cause I like the way they all look in their own way.
