Received my order this afternoon. The Reverse Proof is absolutely beautiful! Be careful opening the package, the coins in their capsules were loose and nearly fell to the floor when I opened the lid. MUST BE CAREFUL
Hello from a former St. Louisan. Congrats on getting your set. I'm a big fan of the reverse proof also. Go Cards!
Mine arrived a couple of hours ago. Beautiful coins and a quality presentation. Should have ordered two sets then send one set off to be graded so I can display them with one of my five coin graded 25th anniversary sets.
I wouldn't necessarily blame the Mint on this, the USPS and other carriers are pretty brutal in their ways of handling packages. I knew a guy that worked at UPS who claimed 50% of more of the packages were thrown like footballs and you can imagine how many were dropped, etc. What I'm wondering is, we can put men on the moon but we can't get Gillette and their deodorant division to create a dispenser where the dry stick doesn't fall out when there's 25% or more left, usually resulting in the remains crumbling across the bathroom floor..
I would not blame the mint, of course, it is not their fault that these packages are in most respects handled, shall I say, somewhat indelicately. I freely admit I was excited to receive the package, and sorta ripped into it. My bad.
just now recieved mine going to leave it boxed up i have more coming and will send them to pcgs at one time ,i might even send in my 2008 with 07 reverses in with them
^ I'm pretty sure you don't need to send the OMP with the coins. I have a set of NGC MS69 20th anniversary gold and silver eagles that I bought close to spot a while back. Had no idea it was worth a bunch as a set. Seen one that ended on ebay at 1900. I might send in my raw 20th anniverary gold and silver eagle set if i can get the special label for it. Not to ask the dumbest question, but would I be able to get the 20th anniversary labels on my raw set if it's out of the sealed mint box? Were the W mints sold outside the set?
I got mine today, August 1st. The coins were placed pretty tightly in the holder, although the front part of the presentation box folded down. I couldn't tell if it was damage due to shipping or if it is supposed to be that way. I didn't see any tear marks on the box. LOVE the reverse proof. too bad the mint didn't make the s proof exclusive to this set. SIGH.
I cant see why the excitement of these sets come from. In my opinion these are not coins as they are not used in anyway for buying. They should be called silver rounds and their price should reflect that. So how did they become coins and how were they added in coin books as a coin? If i am missing out on something let me know. I always thought a coin was money you could spend and get the face value of it.
Mine is in the mail and should be here soon. Kind of new here, how much would it cost to get them graded? And how much does a graded set set go for?
