Apmex sells Gold proof Buffalos as a group of 6 in a fancy-shmantzy box! Please tell me this is a bad deal, the grading service is a scam, the box isn't cool...anything to keep me from spending $12K....but Gawd, they look beautiful!! Help!!

Six Perfect 70 Black Diamond Buffalo Coins!
This set includes the 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 coins. Black Diamond refers to the American bison widely accepted as the model for James Earle Fraser’s Buffalo Nickel reverse. This design was chosen to adorn the Gold Buffalo coins first released by the U.S. Mint in 2006. Black Diamond was the largest animal of his kind in captivity when Fraser chose him as the subject of his new work. Housed in New York’s Central Park Menagerie, Black Diamond wowed crowds with his majestic mane and sheer size for 20 years. Just like Fraser's design and Black Diamond, the U.S. Mint Gold Buffalo is a true American treasure. Set comes in a brand new mahogany wood display case.

I urge you to purchase this set. You will certainly regret not buying it later on. Hear me now, believe me later.

For all that collectible marketing hooey they described about Black Diamond in reference to this coin's design, you'd at least think APMEX would show a picture of the reverse side of the coin with the Buffalo on this product page. And not offering a 2008... no deal. ;)

I had all the Buffalos at one time PF/MS (PCGS FIRST STRIKE).

Got to agree, a 7-piece set would be awesome and expensive....add at least $5,000.

Ripoff if you ask me, but that's just my opinion. I just couldn't bring myself to pay almost 3k over current spot for 6 gold coins, well if paying by credit card.

Thanks ya'll, for the ad-vice! I did not buy the set but I did buy my first Buff-proof today from Provident Metals for $1765.45 which was the best price when compared to the mint, Apmex, Boston Bullion and a couple more.
