When the 2006 20th Anniversary SAE 3-coin set was released, the only way you could have all three attributed with the NGC special anniversary label was to submit the coins still in the unopened shipping container. This is one of the few instances where NGC would automatically return the original packaging to the customer. I still have both of my boxes with the COA's and the plastic covering even though I sold both sets about 5 years ago. At one point, these were selling in the neighborhood of $50. Don't ask me why I kept them! Chris
hey rickmp i looked there 1st. i didnt see a single one. also found website that sells boxes and they didnt have one either,
There is never a guarantee that any particular item will always be available on ebay. They do show up. You have to be patient. Put it on your want list. They'll email you when someone lists one.
Those wooden boxes are nice and I can see why they would sell for a decent price without the coins. The ones that worry me are the empty silver proof set boxes + plastic bezels + COAs. I'd imagine 1 in 100 people who buy them on FeeBay are buying them to replace damaged OGP for their own collections, but what about the other 99? They are the reason I ALWAYS check the coins in the sets that I've bought on FeeBay to make sure they're silver and not just proofs.
I bought a 2008 ASE proof box off ebay for $10 including shipping to house my 2009-DC thick mint mark ASE coin. It felt naked without the box.
