Agreed. I do like the return to the original Elizabeth II design, but even on the current circulating coinage, she looks too old. They should return to the previous (the 3rd) Elizabeth II design. Obviously, that wouldn't happen, I know, and I guess the current one is closer to her actual look.

I must be a weird guy because I love the design - or am I biased because I love the Queen so much. To me personally, it's a real representation of her transformation and dedication as the Queen of Britain and the Commonwealth nations. Afterall she is 86, right? What do you expect the look of an 86 young lady?
On another note, I will be a lucky guy to snatch more of these coins if not a lot people like the design. So I am kewl

    onecoinpony,
I saw your post that states you have 6 of the canoe coins.
would you be interested in trading one of them equally for a $20 Polar Bear?

It may very unique coin given there won't be another Diamond Jubilee coming up anytime soon. Charles certainly won't last long enough to hit the mark and William is already older than when Elizabeth took the throne.

That in itself suggests an interesting subseries. i.e A collection of these coins from all the commonwealth countries.

I had been planning on collecting the series, but these things are already overpriced bullion at $20 + ship for ~8 grams. Very happy with the first 3 coins, but I'm not a fan of faces on the reverse unless its some wildlife.

I got my polar bears direct from RCM and I want to say it was $12 shipping. I was supposed to get free shipping but they cancelled the promo code that day before my phone order was processed supposedly. They came with a colorful cardboard insert about polar bears though which was cool, beats buying them second hand.
