Oh; I definitely want to try to get a set in any event. Based on the 25th Anniversary set, $125.00 seems like a realistic price. Regarding the future value of the past reverse proofs, only time will tell. The release of the 2011 reverse proof did not seem to impact the value of the 2006 reverse proof either way, though.
Oh I kind of doubt that. People didn't have too much trouble getting 15 to 20 sets of the 25th anniversary sets. Those people who want multiples of the household limits will be able to get them.
it will be interesting to see how this will all go down. mintage, per household, packaging, price, mint marks, online ordering system, NGC-PCGS acknowledging San Francisco 75th anniv. will it be a hit ? a dud? or something in between ?
Check out the latest on the new online ordering system. Your government at work: Original plan after the 25th anniversary set debacle: The U.S. Mint’s new order management system under development, to be implemented in 2012, is being constructed under a maximum six-year contract with a British-based vendor, at a price tag as high as $100 million............ Update: U.S. Mint Deputy Director Richard A. Peterson said it is likely that the new system won’t be operational until late 2012 or early 2013, to give the Mint time to work out any kinks. Peterson said if the system being developed is not operational when the Mint plans offers of any special set or sets, officials will have to improvise, possibly offering the sets through a lottery system. Any ideas how the lottery system would work?
I'm just glad they didn't roll out this baby around the time of the 25th Anniversary offering. Things were slow enough on 'game day' and no time to work out the kinks. Kind o' tells me they ain't offering any thing too stressful, for the current system, in the future.....
I'd like to see something different with these sets.Perhaps a rev.pf with a W or S mintmark.Ideally a high relief proof, but considering that it takes the mint years to design test and mint HRs I wont hold my breath.:dead-horse:
