This one was a tough one for me to see. I never saw it when I was using the Celestron...had to use a microscope on the lowest setting to view it, but maybe that's just my eyes.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

I've been in the process of changing computers, so PittsburghMom posted the pics from NGC before I could. Thanks, Mom.
I wasn't lucky enough to find any TDO in my sets. Its probably too late to get more 2011'S as I am sure they've all been cherry picked by now.

    Thanks Mom......:)

Yeah, I didn't find any on my set either, Rick.

  5. Here are pics of my 2011 W ASE from the 25th Anniversary set. What do you folks think? Thanks, TC

That's how mine looks also... with tripling on the first foot & the sun beam also. Some of the letters also look doubled/tripled, but I just assumed that it was mechanical. If this is the legit kind, then I've got to keep studying up on it!

Actually, I just found another one of my 2011-W coins and it also looks like this. I noticed that both look like the 1's have a line going through them (vertically, not just the top part). Do yours look like that as well TopCat?

    Here's a pic, but it didn't come out very well: 2011 W 1.jpg

  7. At first glance, I do not see that in mine but will try to get a closer look. TC

What kind of a setup are you using Topcat? I need to figure out a way to get better pics of slabbed coins.

Here are pics of things that I had assumed were just mechanical doubling (both of the coins that have the things above have these). Now after seeing that there's a TDO, I'm not sure. Anyone want to give an opinion?

Wouldnt you know it! I looked at the 3 I have and the one I was gonna sell is the triple die obverse- it wasn't from the 25th anniv. set and was bought at the same time as another from ebay, both graded ms 69 NGC. It's easy to see with 15x mag. No, I'm sure they're not all cherrypicked!

I agree that it can be seen with a loop, but beware to anyone who is trying to use those cheap Celestron digital microscopes. Mine didn't pick up anything abnormal this time around..whether machine or legit.

Are these being found in non Anniversary sets by others? If so, will there be any additional value with them?

I just spoke with PCGS. They are doing mint error attributions, but not variety attributions on these coins yet.

Umm...and those of you with these sets may want to check your 2011-P's. I purchased a PCGS 70 recently and it has similar tripling on the back foot and in a couple of other areas. I would be a very happy woman if this ends up being listed as a variety.

Any idea how long it'll be before PCGS starts to recognize varieties?
