For those interested, Gainesville Coins has begun selling the 2012 Fiji Taku. The coin has a good amount of eye appeal and is 1 ounce of silver bullion. The premium is about $3.00. If you are a collector of world bullion, have a look.
Very pretty, and the price is right! But, like the 2012 Brit, it's unlimited mintage Here's another pretty for 2012: a Sovereign with a weapon befitting the slaying of that old worm. Oh, and in proof, it's dripping buy me...
Shouldn't bother anyone that's lookin' to add something with a little 'eye appeal' to his or her collection.......
I actually prefer this representation of the Queen to anything realistic from the last few decades...look closer...it's not the ancient with jowels, but rather an earlier and younger likeness! But that said, yeah, I see enough of her elsewhere...
Clint: I purchased for the reverse design and am building a complete set. The obverse queen is much smaller than on any other one ounce silver bullion coin. Do not be fooled by the unlimited mintage. Their mint is a bit secretive, but I am guessing they mint to demand in the current year only. I think demand is not that great as many do not know about them. The earlier years (2010 and 2011) already sell at a premium. Actual mintage may be lower than you think, perhaps even lower than the Brittania. TC
And anybody who's interested, here's the link-a-roo. I just ordered one. New Zealand will be thankful for your purchase, and so is Gainesville! http://www.gainesvillecoins.com/pro...ilver-new-zealand-$2-fiji-taku-.999-fine.aspx
Thanks for posting this. With the recent dip in AU, I might pick up a few. I've had my eye on them for several months and really like the design.
I just picked up a few 2012 Koalas, have you seen those? She's got shark gills on her neck...what were they thinking.
Just got mines in the mail this past Saturday. Very nice looking coin and a good price. This was my first purchase from Gainesville Coins. What was kind of funny/interesting was that on the mailing label it listed the send as Mike's Plumbing or something along those lines lol. I'm assuming that was done for security purposes so that no one would know that there was a coin inside. Did anyone notice something like this when they received their coin?
