Going to pick up some silver tonight.. guy is asking 34 dollars an ounce and has 1986 prospectors or 1987 ase.. I like like prospector coins but I have limited funds and think that the ase is a better financial buy... amy thoughts?

ase's will always have a more collectable side. why i dont know.I prefer the look of the prospectors because ase's get old after a while. and if you are getting for 34 buy your college funds away. thats a steal

ASE's by a long shot. They are simply more verifiable as to being an ounce of silver by more people, therefor should be at a higher premium.

Wish I had more money but I can only afford ten right now...

  6. I own both. If you can only afford one, go with the ASE. Very easy to sell later on and much easier to recoup any premium paid over spot. TC

Prospectors are one of the most faked rounds out there. The fakes are rampant on eBay for sure. Also, if silver is reinstated for tender of debt payment as is being proposed in many states right now, the ASE would be the only acceptable legal tender since it's created by the US Mint. Can you see where I'm going with this?
