I called them this morning because I was confused also (even moreso that my normal morning) and was told they will be receiving them this coming week. I guess the fact they are only 400 miles from the Canadian mint gives them quicker access .
Hrmm...still they're saying they have something in stock when they don't. That's not right. That company's been getting...eh..I don't know how to put it...less and less "comfortable" to do business with over the last year or so. I think I'll stick with Provident.
I've never ordered any Canadian bullion from Mint Products, but the ASEs I have ordered from them have been superb quality. I think they look them over good before they ship them. I ordered 2 Moose coins online last night from them, so I'll let you know how things go. I like Provident for a lot of things, but I have not had good luck with them with the Canadian Wildlife series. Of the Timber Wolf coins I ordered when they were released, 1 was okay and the other 3 were spotty. The 4 Grizzly Bears I ordered from them were all okay. I ordered 2 Cougars from them and they were both really bad spotwise. I don't know if it reflects on Provident or on the fact the Canadian Mint quality control is el stinko. Anyway, I thought I would try Mint Products this time and see if the luck will change.
My e-mail from them says "available for purchase" not "in stock". I don't see on their website where it says they have them in stock. They do have a good price on them though. I'll get a couple.
May be it is just me i am not big fan of animals in coins, since it seems like after the popularity of deadly and dangerous coin series every mint seems to be wanting to get in on this.
I just ordered four with no problem from :MintProducts Put this in the Customer Notes as well "Please insure that they don't have any milkspots, thanks" We'll see what happens and I'll post close-up pics when I get them.
If MintProducts has a better product (better chance of NO milkspots) I will attempt to buy a tube in the next few days. I will just watch for another dip in spot and then pull the trigger. I like that these are currently selling for basically the same as ASE's but have the limited mintage. While they may never appreciate like the Timberwolf I like being able to get it close to spot, thus reducing my downside on the premium. If they don't appreciate no worries since I got them so close to spot. Plus they look like they will be a cool looking coin.
I just spoke with a lady at MintProducts and asked if they can check for milk spots. She said when buying a tube they typically don't open the tubes but if you ask in the "customer notes" section to check for milk spots they will remove any with milkspots and replace with ones without spotting. This just make it worth ordering some from them and see if I can get an entire tube without milkspots.
I just received an email from Mint Products saying my Moose coins have shipped. I'll report back once I receive them and let you know if they are more selective in terms of the milk-spotting issue. I wouldn't think they could be any worse than Provident Metals, but we will see.
I've used Mint Products for years and have been very happy with the coins I've bought from them. I'm planning to get the Moose coin from them in the next couple of days or so
Well I pulled the trigger on my first order throught MintProducts. I purchased a roll of the Moose and a roll of ASE's. I asked that they remove any moose coins with milkspotting. My fingers are crossed that I will get a full tube of non milk spotted Moose. They received their Moose shipment yesterday so it should be a quick ship.
I just received my Moose coins from Mint Products. No spots! Yay! The coins look great. I think they are my second favorite design, behind the Timber Wolf and ahead of the Grizzly and the butt ugly Cougar. Anyway, Mint Products comes through with flying colors again.
Great to hear and glad you like the design! If I get a full tube of "milk spot" free coins I am thinking of pulling the trigger on another tube. If the premium does grow then it gives me a tube I can sell and still keep one.
Got mine yesterday, no spots of any sort, quite pleased. Stunning coin, imo. A vast improvement over the cougar effort.
