Do you ever move bullion when it's down?

How about physical bullion? I made a purchase at 35. I am getting bored with my ASE's. I do not want to part with any mapples or buffallos, but I went overboard with the ASE's. I want to take like half of them and put it into Pre64 Wash Quarters. What do you think?

I think there would be many people willing to trade you pre 64 quarters for youe ASEs.

what i think you should do IMHO is sell what it is that you don't want when silver is higher $32 and above, then wait a little while till silver is around $28 or so, buy what it is that you want. you will get more for your money and also not have as much room for loss, at least that's what i do and haven't lost any money at all :)

I would try to upgrade junk silver and silver rounds TO ASEs, and not the other way around. But if you see yourself as a collector and want the Washington quarters for numismatic reasons rather than investment reasons, then it makes sense. You have to like what you own.

If you feel you are too heavily weighted in one type of silver, it might not hurt to swap a bit. The nice thing about junk silver is that it's in smaller denominations, and would be more liquid in a barter system. I would rather have fractional bullion, but that's not as easy to get your hands on. I love Mercs and would be happy to have a lot more of those. It's hard to go wrong with ASE's though.

Market levels will not matter if you are swapping one type of silver for another. It could be $5 os $200 an ounce, if you swap silve for silver never worry about the market. Its just like stocks, if you are moving from one equity to another do not worry about market levels. Only worry about that if you are putting new money in, or taking money out, of an investment.

I sent a PM as well. I think it's just preference, and I'm interested in doing the reverse!

Yeah, I wasn't anticipating the responses via PM. Nice to know there is a market for swaping out there. I think I will have to hold on to what I have right now, unless it is a really good deal. I had to pay rediculous shipping+taxes on those ASE's as well. I appreciate the offers though.

Well, I have somebody wanting to trade coin into ASE's so I am looking to get a few to trade. So far, I have two! One from about a year ago, and one I won in gypsy Gear's contest. I am in the same boat with you Jason, Though I am trying to accumulate a few to offer trade.

I was actually trying to get a discussion going about bullion/90% swapping. With silver prices going up 1.31 today, I believe I'll hang-tight.
