What is the special black 25th anniversary label?

Well I received my sets back from NGC today.
    Results:

    2011 Eagle 1) MS69, 4) MS70
    2011 W Eagle 5) MS70
    2011 S Eagle 1) MS69, 4) MS70
    2011 W Proof Eagle 2) PF69 UC, 3) PF70 UC
    2011 P Rev. Proof Eagle 3) PF69, 2) PF 70

Overall I am happy, would have liked to have seen one more reverse proof come in better but I can't be too greedy.

I could be wrong, but I am willing to bet that the special Black 25th Anniversary label is not from the set, but a normal bullion coin that was graded with a special label. That's why it is only $69 (and overpriced at that).

PGCS and NGC are requiring that unopened sets be sent to them before they will issue the 25th Anniversary label. Otherwise there is no other way to verify that a bullion coin came from this set.

Ok, I was wrong. I looked it up and I see that the black label is PCGS's label color for the 25th set. I was thinking it was like the NGC 25th anniversary gold label (non-25th set). You can get the special 25th anniversary label (not the 25th "set" label), by simply paying for the extra tier, for any coin minted in 2011 since this is the 25th anniversary of the silver eagle.

dont be dissappointed. what makes a coin valuable? how rare and condition right? 100,000 sets. 100,000 s and p and will always be so, but how many of the sets were opened and the 3 non unique coins can not be graded as part of the set ever. thus if half the sets were opened nos like 50,000 for each of the non unique coins slabbed set are possible. remember how rare. can you say 95-w

Got my results a while ago and posted them earlier.
I've been traveling, so the PO has been holding my sets.
Finally going to see them tomorrow!

There was a note on my return submission form that said one of my reverse proofs was out of
its capsule when NGC opened the box???? wonderful packaging job!

Just received my results from NGC. Homerun on the 'S'. Now to go to ebay and pick up a PF70 'W' to make two complete sets.

    Question ?

Has anybody questioned the TPG's grade and resubmitted to be graded again ?

If so what results were obtained ?

Has anybody managed any trades to even out a complete 69 or 70 set with the mixed batches of 69 & 70 we got.

I did'nt trade, but bought several graded 70 singles when prices dropped to complete two of my sets.

I haven't had any responses to my offer to trade in the trade section. I have 5 S's in 70, any many others, but need to trade for RP in 70.

It's very unlikely that someone will trade, your best bet is to pick one up on ebay.

Just got my results back from NGC... I guess I'm a little late to the game with these, but better late than never!!

I sent in 5 sealed sets and another 5 coins each of the 2011-P Reverse Proof and 2011-S Unc. NGC graded them as follows:

    2011 Bullion - 3 in 70, 2 in 69
    2011-W MS - 3 in 70, 2 in 69
    2011-W PR - 2 in 70, 3 in 69
    2011-S MS - 7 in 70, 3 in 69
    2011-P PR - 9 in 70, 1 in 69

So, looks like I can have 3 70 sets if I can find another 2011-W PR 70 somewhere... not too bad and seems like I did pretty well on the key dates. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the submission.
