    Don't know I'm bothering, but:

    1) The 2010 ATBs, raw, are selling even now for 20-25% more than they cost from the APs. No doubt you can buy them for $815 (melt) from your super amazing source though.

    2) The ATBs are not an established set with a collector base in the hundreds of thousands and a 26 year history. It's not even an apples to oranges comparison, it's more like apples to refrigerators.

    3) We're all very sorry that you didn't get a set and won't ever get a set for 5% over melt or whatever your latest pie-in-the-sky prediction is.

it was so easy to make money on these 25th eagle sets. a phone call , thats it. no driving around to thrift stores asking for junk silver. just a phone call.

and people have been WATCHING this thread to get an idea of the current PRICE . to see how much money they can make or are sitting on.

    > to me if some one is into bullion, junk silver, or money period. you made some money on the 25th eagle sets <

they should have named this thread 25TH Anniversary Silver Eagle Set "PROFIT WATCH"! some people made some BANK ! YA'LL

it was so easy a CAVEMAN could do it !

I love that this site doesn't let you edit old post and that all post are quoted for posterity...I'm going to have a field day with some of these post in about four or five months...I have unopened monster boxes of ASE and have been stacking since silver was $5 an ounce, ASE are such boring coins...You guys all have blinders on it's clear that bias controls reason. 100k is a HUGE population in any coin/set regardless of demand. The only way you guys have a chance is if only about 1 out of every 40 coins grades a 70 and you're one of the lucky ones with a 70.

More power to the people who made "bank" of these coins! I'm laughing at those who think they have long term potential and arn't cashing in on them now.

guano, so you did not make money on the 25th eagle ? profits have already been made. no need to worry about months from now .no biggie.

if I ever come across a big hoard of junk silver I will let you know. I will even start a thread called "Junk Silver Price Watch " just kidding

I'm sure you make plenty of money with your strategy , no biggie. it's all good

My Grandmal has some John Wayne and Elvis Presley collectors plates limited 1 of 2500 that she has had for about 25 years now, she swears when she dies and passes them of to me that I'll be set for life if I sell them. Can't wait for grandmal to die.

of the subject. but I think a lot of people wish they had purchased more sets. I wish I would have. those who got around the system and purchased multiple sets of 5 and had them graded 70's did real good.

My thing now is low mintage gold and platinum fractionals. But if you find junk for under 20x face I'll take it.

Does your Grandma have any 1995W Eagles or 2006 20th Ann Sets?

Thanks to Guano, I'm convinced that it is futile to collect ASE for two reasons. They will never have any value and they are the ugliest things ever. I'm giving them all away now and investing in beanie babies. That's where the REAL money is!

A little bitter, Guano, that you didn't get your share?

Not me. I bought one set for myself and intend to keep it. I'm not one to try and make profits by getting "around the system" which results in cheating others out of their turn. It's one thing to profit by finding a nice coin or buying bullion and selling it later to a willing buyer. It's quite another to jump the line, shove others out of the way, and profiteer off other coin and bullion buyers. I don't do the latter.

I've met some great people in this hobby/investment and I wouldn't seek to take advantage of them by unfair means. Thankfully the vast majority of people in this hobby/investment seek to help each other. IMO, what goes around comes around and it simply isn't worth it to me to try and game the system unfairly.

I totally agree with you. I'm a nice guy. I feel for those who didn't get a set. thats why I only purchased 3. but I have to admit I do think about how much money was made. but I'm like most. I watched from the side lines because nice guys finish last.(some times)

a lot of people are enjoying there set(s) and thats why they get defensive when people knock them.

I'm not a financial guineas like some members. I'm just a collector. and a rookie at that.

But wait, thats not all, tell them you read Guano's post at cointalk and we'll give you our new Tear ShamWow for those nights you cry yourself to sleep because your bullion has lost all it's numismatic value. 100% saline proof.

I wanted 1 set, but when I ordered I ordered 5 anyway. Sold 4 got 1 free plus paid for all kids Xmas gifts plus a 5 night trip to Disney world. I saw the opportunity to make some quick cash and took it. I don't see how this was a bad thing for me to do morally or otherwise?

Feel like putting your money where your mouth is?

Here's the deal: if at any point before 23:59 EST on 31st December 2013 (2 years from now, and I'll throw in the extra 28 days) this set is available complete and in OGP - not even graded! - for $400 or less at...

    a) Any dealer's website in quantity 2 or more

    b) On Ebay in 2 or more BIN listings by different sellers

...I will buy you 2 complete-in-OGP sets and ship them to you free of charge.

However, if they are NOT available at that price, then on 1st January 2014 you buy 1 complete-in-OGP set and send it to me free of charge.

Shouldn't be a big financial deal to make the bet given that you have unopened monster boxes of ASEs just laying around. And since you're so very certain that you'll be able to buy these for waaaaaaay less than that, this is like free money for you.
