I submit to NGC(Not a dealer), got 17 of 20 back as 70s..... PCGS charging way too much for grading. Dont understand why people think they are worth more.

My package arrived safely from NGC and I FINALLY got to actually look at my 25th ASE's today! Interestingly, I believe my 70's are actually 70's and my every single one of my 69's have a small hit or blemish on them and are definitely not 70's in a 69 holder. Say what you will about NGC vs. PCGS but at least in my case I contend they got it right! I can't find anything on my 70's and in every case there's something on my 69's. My opinion of NGC has definitely taken a turn for the better!
On another note, I was so surprised to see how BIG that mint display case! I somehow thought it was much smaller so when I opened the box I was blown away at how long it was and how really nice it looks. The mint did a fantastic job on this one! I guess getting rid of Moe was a good thing after all!

PCGS has been in business since 1985 and NGC since 1987.
If these two companies were performing underhanded tricks like
switching out coins, I'm sure they would have been outed by now.
Over the course of twenty five years, I'm sure they've had a
disgruntled employee or two. I think I'll continue to trust them.

What a sham. I'll let mine float on their own. Way to much money to tell me what I already know......

Can you tell me how long return shipping took from NGC? I sold some based on the online report and now I am waiting to ship them. They were checked into USPS on Wed, but they seem to just be sitting in Sarasota, unless the USPS isn't very good at updating their tracking.

I went with NGC and from what I have seen on here I got about the lowest set of grades from them. Not sure why mine are different than others, but maybe I just haven't seen enough grading reports yet. I had 11 of 25 come out a 70, and most are getting almost double that many. I saw one guy that submitted only one set and every coin was a 70. What are the odds of that?

These came pretty quickly for a Reg shipment. They shipped them from Sarasota on Wed and they arrived to me here in So. Cal today (Monday). Counting Weds and factoring in that Thursday was a holiday, it took 4 business days in total, 3 if you don't consider Wed as a true day. When you compare this to one of my return shipments from CAC (NJ) that took 2 1/2 weeks to arrive, this shipment was very fast.
Also, there was a note on my submission form that said one of my eagles had come out of the capsule in the shipment. I've heard this has happened to others and I feel fortunate that it was still able to grade a 69. I wonder if in the case of your coins if a few of them came loose and bounced around which would explain your lower grades.

Not bad considering it is from PCGS, which has been getting lower grades. Congrats on getting a complete set of 70's, almost 2.

Looking at your results, I assume that you submitted to PCGS. Correct?

Sent 22 sets to PCGS for First Strike Anniversary grading. Here is the cost break down for me:

    110 Coins Graded $1,540
    110 First Strike $1,980
    Handling Charge $8
    Packaging Return $140
    Coin Return Shipping $56.20
    Registered Mail Shipping & 2 Boxes $207.90
    Total $3,931.90

Will Post Grading Results. I know PCGS is a little more strict about grading, but customers pay more for that same reason. Grading was a lot more unfortunately. Hopefully at least 20% 70's.

Wow, lots of sets, the profit from just 2 or 3 70 sets will pay for the grading!

    $4000.00 for just grading!! Wow
If you ordered them all from the mint (which you couldn't) all the coins would only cost you $6,600.
And all they did was grade them!!
