I am considering selling all 5 of mine (once they hit $1k each) and not risking the "milk spot"problem. Has anyone noticed these as a problem yet?

Very little from what I've seen. You need a light to spot them, I've been using an LED light to check them out. I'm not sending anything in to feet graded but do appreciate flawless coins.

    ahh,
I was under the impression that milk spots only show up on Bullion Silver Eagles*... is this not correct?
I thought Proofs, RPs, and Unc/burnished were therefore safe... leaving only one coin in each set to worry about spotting... ??

Edit *and that milk spots are relatively rare on silver eagles. i've never had trouble with them ever, and have bullion coins from every year since 86... however i have seen ASE's in slabs with spots... and lately i've been concerned...

I don't think it's anything to be concerned about but others have stated that with most slabbed coins the milk spots show up later. These coins are sure beautiful to look at.

No, milk spots have appeared on 90's proof sets. Both on my Keneddy and the G.W. Quarter.

    Spots

I have ASEs in proof and UNC dating back to 1986. The UNC coins are in slabs as well as Intercept Shield boxes. I have not seen any spots on the coins to date. My proofs are still in their original government packages inside a semi-air tight container along with silica gel. No spots ther either. Not sure if what I am doing is preventing the spots, but it does give me peace of mind.
