Question for you guys. I was at my LCS today and shopping around for some 1/10 gold coins i didnt have yet and found a 1988 1/10 Singapore lunar gold dragon. Asked the guy how much and he told me 10% over spot. My question is i couldnt find much info on these coins. Looks like 10,000 were minted but thats about all i can find. My question is what do you guys think about the ability to liquidate these in a time of need? I'm mostly looking to buy this to add to my 1/10 collection but don't want to end up stuck with something that would be impossible to sell if i had an emergency. And does anyone have any info on these coins?
here in asia, those things sell really quickly and at a large premium over spot. At singapore it is very difficult to buy those coins at 10% over spot. The latest dragon that they released are being sold by the singapore mint for over SGD 300 (around $250). If i were in your situation, i'd happily buy that coin for 10% over spot.
