2011 ASE 25th Anniversary Set (A25) - Order thread

    People in another coin forum posted their rejection emails from the US Mint yesterday. So, unless you've received the email from the Mint telling you that your order is being cancelled because your order was received too late, or they ran out of product, there is still hope.



    Hi Modernman ~ which forum is posting cancellations please? I'm order #38381XXX, backorderd, ship date 11/24 and I haven't received an email one way or the other. Thank you.

    wonder how many out of the 100,000 sets will stay as ungraded sets.

    It was in the Collectors Universe forum. The cancellation emails from the Mint were posted near midnight on Tues. 11/8 on page 150 or so in this thread: http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=26&threadid=827578&STARTPAGE=1

    My rough guess would be 1/5 unless the graders drummed up some good marketing. I won't be sending anything unless it looks that good but I've never bought any slabs or know much about grading.

    Thank you, Modernman. I believe I am stuck somewhere in "who-knows?" land. Not "in stock", not "on wait list".

    IMO, the Mint needs to review their processes. I ordered only one set, order #38381XXX. Took me two hours of simultaneously trying for a web page to load as I continued to hit the re-dial on the phone. Finally got a phone operator. She explained they had gone to waiting list status 20 minutes earlier.

    I have had a ASE subscription for the past ten years. I automatically get a coin each year sent to me under the subscription. Many years I'll order an additional one or two coins for gifts. I am a collector. I do not flip, I do not slab.

    I suggested to the mint that when sets like the anniversary set go on sale, long time subscription holders of the ASE who purchase, say one coin each year, should be moved to the top of the list for the one set of the special anniversary sets.

    This entire process has left a bad feeling with me. I am not sure if I'll continue to be a collector in the future as this isn't fun anymore.

    Just my thoughts, thanks for letting me vent.

    Was your credit card actually charged or is it a pending charge. The mint applies a pending charge to verify the money is actually available and the has it moved into the recent charges portion of statement. I'd like to know cause I thought both things (actual charge and order tracking number) would be done at same time.

    You're getting close to having your 3835xxxx shipped. My order #3834xxxx went to shipped sometime within the last two hours.

    My order was just officially cancelled by the Mint.
    I then deleted my account.

    So, this is concerning. I got the wait list email a couple of days ago. Tonight I track my order, order not found. My number is 3839XXXX. I hope their website is down (again). No email from mint.

    Sorry took so long to reply... its a pending charge... hasn't actually been pulled but the funds are no longer available for the exact amount. I would imagine it will show up tomorrow since I'm suppose to have coins by 1030am tomorrow...or today now I guess technically.

    This is probably not good. My order as changed status from "In Process" to "Your order request is on hold." 3837XXXX 5:03PM.

    I'm 38377xxx still at "Your order request is in process". My order time was 4:54 - 5:09pm. I got one on ebay for under $600 just in case.

    CORRECTION: An entirely NEW order magically appeared on my Order Status page. This new order number is "On Hold". My original order is still "In Process".
