I would guess that several G Men visited this company and confiscated their inventory and imposed some pretty stiff fines. The Treasury is very touchy about using or modifying their designs and misleading the public.

Daniel Carr out of business? Nah. He's real tight with the Feds. The Moonlight Mint is alive and well, skirting the fringes of legality regarding his 2009 issue. Did you know he designed the NY and RI Statehood Quarters?

This would require the US Congress to repeal the legislation that requires the Mint to produce the ASE in quantities required by the market. This hasn't happened as far as I know. The proof issue isn't mandated, but the Secretary of the Treasury is the party who decides if it will be produced or not. It's been a while since I have read this legislation but it might also require that Congress to approve, by legislation any changes to the design of the coin.

doesnt hurt to dream. Just hope you guys know you are dreaming. lol

While we're dreaming, I'd like a 2011-S proof. It can be normal or reverse, I'm not that picky. Thanks!

    Yeah, I don't expect a change either.
Yet it seems design can be changed after 25 years.

I love the current design, but would embrace some change after 25 years if it was to occur.

Since we are on the top of change, I would really like to see them bring back St. Gaudens but in silver, so people like myself can afford one :)

If a change is ever made to the American silver eagle design, I suggest a particularly beautiful classic--the obverse and reverse of the Gobrecht pattern dollar of 1838 with stars on the obverse and the eagle in flight.

I highly doubt I'm in the majority, but I would like to see an expanded idea of possibility in american coinage

Daniel Carr is quite talented. The 2009 DC (thick date) proof ASE is very nice. I'm voting for no 2009 ASE proof from the mint, of course, it is for selfish reasons.

I hope they don't mess with a successful ASE design. :thumb:
