Do we have to be done being excited about the current hot issue already? We haven't even seen them yet. :(

    Pick one...

2012 is the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and all the Mints in the Commonwealth will do something special. Seems like just yesterday that a good looking Elizabeth took the throne.

2012 is also an Olympic year

2012 according to the Mayan calendar is the end of the world as we know it.

Don't know, his taste could have run to the 'manish' end of the spectrum. They could even be worse than the modern QE II obverse!

Supposedly, they are talking about instituting new grading classifications for these, HGH-69 and HGH-70.

as far as US releases, nothing huge for quite a while.

spouse coins, commemoratives, 5 oz pucks, etc are only a side show distraction. IMO of course.

the biggest think that may happen next year would be a new SAE design or as someone mentioned the first year palladium eagle.

It's been my impression the numismatic value of Olympic coins isn't very good. Maybe because they always sell a lot of them during the offering period.

If they'd issue coins for ping pong and badminton, it would be a sell-out. Maybe they could issue a $5K coin for the hotel bill.

That's just it. Long term numismatic value is usually best on coins that were not sell outs when they were issued.

Ah, I see. I mainly listen to REM, Radiohead, AC/DC, Metallica on occasions, and Guns N' Roses. one song that is kinda jazzy i listen to somewhat frequently is Frank Sinatra- New York, New York. (ever since i went to new york... :))
