worst case scenario every body would receive at least one set. but i think every one who played by the rules will get there 5 sets or how ever many they ordered

Ebay has them cut down to 51 auctions this morning. One page and 3 auctions on page 2. I wonder why these are allowed to be left up? Have to check it again at the end of the day.

One of the auctions is for a single, sealed set. 12 bids and stands at $711.

What's funny is that a lot of people won't know ebay did this. They're going to think the supply just dried up! So the first few to get them in hand and up on ebay are going to do quite well I would guess.

I don't think the quantity ordered matters, both my 5 set orders have been in process for a while now. The ship date keeps getting pushed back but we all knew their projected ship date already anyways.

I ordered 5 and my status shows in progress. I know a number of other people with the same status as well. i think you're mistaken.

Just goes to show, don't listen to everything you read online. A lot of assumptions and not enough evidence to back it up. I've been a few of these fiascos with the US Mint to know what the process is and how long it takes for items in demand to ship.

Just expect them end of the year, maybe it's just me but it's no big deal. Getting them now or later, it doesn't matter.

iirc, the mint charges your card not too long before the item ships. would be interesting if they charge it now, then there's a month delay. wonder how many flippers sitting on 5 sets or more would be scrambling and panicking.

My experience with the Mint is that I generally receive the shipping notice prior to seeing my CC charged. Might be because the US Government has a good "relationship" with the CC companies and once they authorize the charge the Mint is confident that they will receive the funds. :>)

My recollection is that the shipping notice arrives before the charge show up. Actually my card seems to be charged the same day that the ordered item is delivered.

You always have a Minimum of 25 days between the statement and when payment is due, so even with a 7 day auction on eBay there is lots of time, even if you had to relist the item and have a second seven day auction before selling.

No need to scramble and panick because of the delay!

If you can sell three @$600+ that pays for all 5 sets, the eBay fees and shipping costs. :>)

Trying to predict what the Mint will do and when is an excercise in frustration. From experience I know they don't charge your card until the product ships. But, prior to that, both the status and ship date can change back and forth -- multiple times. I've even had orders cancelled and then ship a couple of days later -- and then apologize for the cancellation email saying the product would ship soon, when it had already shipped. They admitted in an email I received a couple of days ago that their system is "outdated" and will improve by late 2012.

Yeah but its still funny their own search default choices when you type in "2011 25th", all of those searches still bring up sets and MS70 and MS69 graded single coins, clearly stating "pre-order".
