What kind of pricetag would that be for a 5 coin set graded and all shipping ballpark? Thanks SirCharlie http://www.cointalk.com/t194166/ I used your post here.
I read it was a recommendation from someone on the Citizens Committee so I don't think it has been voted on or brought up except in the interview I read. We know how much is said by the mint or committee that never see's the light of day. It was in response to comments made about what changes would need to be made for more inspiring coinage. Knowing how the Mint works IF they were to decide to change the design it would take years so, maybe we will see a 30th anniv set. God help us when that happens!
Here is a great article from Coinweek today on the disaster on ordering the sets yesterday: http://www.coinweek.com/bullion-rep...-4-½-hours-amid-widespread-ordering-problems/
" . . . In October the Mint will also release the “W” burnished coin separately. This will be the first time since 2008 that the Mint will issue burnished silver eagles. . . " I can't find this coin on the Mint website. Any information on it? http://www.coinweek.com/bullion-rep...release-of-25th-anniversary-silver-eagle-set/
I looked for my last invoice from slabbing some Peace dollars, but can't find it right now. It seems like it was about $45 per coin, but you can run up the bill quick by adding First Strike, which I think is another $25. You need to be a member, and they will even send you a paperwork kit to send them the coins, and it has all of the prices. I just thought this might save everybody $40-$50 per set or so if you ask them about it. There are probably tons of people here that will know exactly, I mainly use it for keys and older coins. Good Luck! Chuck
I got a mint confirmation for five sets ordered with a ship date of 11/10/11. If they arrive in time for the Baltimore Whitman Show, Nov 17th - 20th I going to take the unopened box of anniversary sets to a NGC or PCGS at show let them open the box and select two sets for grading. Do you think they'll accept the sets under these conditions? I don't want to send the unopened box of five sets to them.
September 15th I think they went on sale, right after the 9/11 commem. Should be in the available products on mints site.
I had the same thing in mind. I'll let you go down first, call me if it's a good deal... :thumb: I think its gonna be around a grand for all 5 sets to be slabbed
according to their article... http://www.ngccoin.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?IDArticle=2409&NGC-label-for-25-anniversary-eagle-sets Don't know about PCGS
Thanks. I don't see them on the website. http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&identifier=1000
NGC will not accept these coins at shows. http://www.ngccoin.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?IDArticle=2409&NGC-label-for-25-anniversary-eagle-sets
"Thanks. I don't see them on the website. http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wcs...dentifier=1000" The above reply is to another thread. Downlow - I dunno, One of the five sets I ordered is for a friend and I don't want to get all of my four sets graded. If PCGS doesn't have a workable plan then mine don't get graded. IMO, why spend the extra money for that First Strike label nonsense.
[h=2]I posted about this on the 'order' thread, but I thought I might get more exposure here and a second opinion from other knowledgeable posters. Is it correct that I am out of luck (on the waiting list), because my order status reads as 'held' and 'your order request is on hold'? I got my order in pretty early, but I guess I didn't make the cut. Do any fellow posters have firsthand experience with receiving 'held' status on their orders. Thank you. Obviously, I have gone from elation at winning this 'mini-lottery' to an utterly deflated feeling C'est la vie.....[/h] My order is time stamped 12:34 PM (Eastern time) and my order status reads 'held' (on the 'my account' screen) and 'Your order request is on hold' (on the track order' screen) with 5 units backordered expected to ship on 11/11/2011. My order# is: 38329XXX Did these sets really sell out in about half an hour? I was hoping I made it before the cutoff. But it looks like I didn't I didn't realize that 'held' meant the same thing as being on the waiting list Read more: http://www.cointalk.com/t194104-8/#ixzz1c6nWfK98
"Hold" simply means that the Mint has not cleared the order yet - all orders are held until cleared. It does not mean you are on the wait list. Looks like your order number is within the first 5,000 or so placed - you shouldn't be concerned.
