once i paid for an upgraded shipping and did not need to. they did not charge me for it. i dont think they will charge for upgraded shipping even though you asked for it.

 

It's the idea that more than 100K folks will be in the same boat down the road that makes this set 'awesome dude'.

 

Anyone know approx how many sets have sold?

My confirmation was 38335XXX at around 1:10pm

I don't think you can go by order # because that assumes there are no orders being placed for anything else. Also the phone ordering system and the walkup (store at the mint) may not use the same sequence #s.


The mint will also go and kick out all the orders where people went over the 5/household limit, by checking addresses and CCs.

 

Finally hit the place order tab. Fingers crossed.

 

The website hasen't confirmed it yet but my email shows that the order went through #38342XYZ

 

I said a guess, I'm not going to go nuts if you arent spot on. Just wondering if its worth driving to my friends and handing him 1500 dollars to order 5 more sets or they are probably sold out by now

 

I was logged on to the website with my account and also calling at the same time. The website would not go to the next step. At about 9:55 PDT I was
able to place a order by phone. I ordered 5 sets, order # 38333xxx. So saltysam-1 just keep on trying. Good luck.

 

That's around the 18,000th order placed through the Mint since noon today...I'm thinking that they are within an hour of being sold out!

the mint has to be the most incompetent business there is.web site doesn't work and phones busy for 2 hrs now.

 

If those are all ASE set orders and 5 per house that is 90,000 . I don't think its that high but we are getting close. It might sell out my tonight.

 

This does at least delay sell-out a bit. Imagine a system able to cope with any load. Could this have sold out in ten minutes? Would that actually be better?
