I was wondering if anyone is investing in any other metals besides gold and silver? Also, what are the top 5 precious metals, and what are some sites that I can get them?
I think most would say platinum is the third precious metal. After that, it gets sketchier, maybe palladium is fourth. Platinum is fairly available in coin form, the US makes one, and I believe the US is coming out with a palladium one.
Those two are becoming the progressive favorites with the out of sight pricing of gold. Silver is still in reach but I see more people hoarding copper and nickel. I see little old ladies walk out of banks with full cases of coin.
Platinum and Palladium are #3 and #4 in my book. I also like gallium. It's a pretty neat metal. I only invest in gold and silver though. They are the metals that you will find in ancient texts, and the ones with a track record for being used with monetary standards. If you want to buy the big 4, there are plenty of sites. I like GainesVilleCoins as one of the more affordable and reliable dealers. ProvidentMetals is good too. APMEX is the big player on the block, but they're more expensive, and their customer service with the lunar dragons recently has turned a lot of people off. I would not forget about your local coin dealers either. It varies for me, but I know a couple that beat the pants off of online retailers.
