I'm curious if anybody knows the exact weight of these. They're called 5 oz coins, but is that a regular ounce or a Troy Oz? I was considering some of the older releases on these since the price seems like a bargain, but I'm concerned about them not listing the of weight, purity, or even saying the word 'silver' on these coins.

I'm waiting for the Vicksburg coin, but I'll probably get Gettysburg too. I'm not too excited about the 2012 issues.

Unless the mintage is going to be less then the 2010's I don't see a reason to keep purchasing these in collectible format. Bullion versions maybe as long as you are only paying a slight premium over spot.
The long term of this set has many problems I see, Going to take like 20 years to complete if they even finish it and don't kill off the program due to lack of interest, Secondly, storing and protecting 50oz of silver each year is also going to be a problem as you are going to need a very big safe to fit them all in or will need many many safety deposit boxes. Thats if you are just trying to make one set, I wanted to make 3 sets but no way, that like $6,000 a year just in 5oz ATBs @ $43 an oz.

Anyway i'm in a bad mood, sorry. But I think i'm done with this series.

I am looking forward to the 2011-dated "pucks," as well. Expensive? Yes. Do I enjoy them? Very much so. I plan to continue buying one of the numismatic versions as they are issued.

Huh? Same ridiculous prices, higher mintage, no longer the first year releases, less interest in the program this year than last. Yep, makes perfect sense to me. I say raise the price to $350.00 each then. It makes about as much sense as keeping it at $280.00.

Why are they raising the mintage to 35k?
    Arent sales dwindling?
And interest in the series wont get any better if the availability increases.
    What gives?

Maybe bail on this whole deal :(
